Why God???
This line of questioning never stops. We might not have all the answers but we certainly have all the questions. And believe me not every question asked about how or why God does the things He does can be answered this side of eternity.
But one thing I do know, we want to love people with all we have in us. How do we show people that no matter who they are, where they came from or were heading still love them. In this world today we have a responsibility to love people in a greater way than ever before. We show up for them, rain or shine, sick or well.
One thing that’s really cool is the difference between light and darkness is more clear than ever. The Word cuts through all of the horrible things, the seemingly innocent and the slightly outside of Gods will. It shows us clearly how we should love people, how we should focus on His mission over our own. That makes it easier for people to know they need Jesus.
There is no time greater than now for people to accept Jesus in their lives. As a Guest Services team we get the opportunity to help people find that relationship with Jesus. What an honor that is. How can we make that experience the best possible one for them? I want nothing more than for people that I come into contact with to fall in love with Him. I know for me, before I found Jesus, I was lost, confused and alone. I thought I had things figured out and it was all stripped from me in an instant. My plans were shattered by an incorrect heart diagnosis that changed everything.
I am so grateful that my best friend in high school talked to me patiently and gently about Jesus. I am so elated that Bre, my wife, and her entire family was praying for me every day, and willing to spend hours answering everything about the Lord and the “why he would allow these things to happen?” type questions. I am grateful my parents raised me with Christian morals and fought hard for me to have a good life, to remove me from situations that were dangerous or harmful.
But not everyone has had those people in their lives. So you and I GET to be that for them. We GET to be the ones that step into that void. Let’s make Guest Services a bridge for people, the connector for people to get to their next step. Be the guide that shows them the way, which often times means getting them into the next ministry they need. Get them to Connect, Essentials, Discover, Common Care counseling. Whatever it takes. Love on them through guiding them to the next thing they need.
Love you guys and I know that Jesus loves you.
Let’s remember to always, “Serve Like Jesus!”
Be Blessed,
James Cooper
