You are cool when you know little details about someones life. Wait, it’s not cool to say “you are cool when…” Alright in Gen Alpha slang, "You're lowkey 🔥 when you show someone they 💯 mean something to you. It makes your vibe together Gucci and keeps your bond.
Get to know people. It is just a great feeling to be able to check in with people about the things that have come up in their lives. I was just mentioning this to our LC students that we get the chance to help mentor. What a beautiful opportunity to make someone feel like they matter, when we say, “how is _______ doing?” So simple. It doesn’t even have to be about a person in their life. It could be about their finals that they have been studying for all week, or that new bible the just got for their birthday. Or an even bigger one, noticing they got their hair done. I know every time someone notices I got a fresh fade, I just say “oh, no I just woke up like this” Just playing. I honestly appreciate it. The effort matters. And I write these things sometimes to help me stay accountable.
My goal each and every day is to try really hard to find something to make someone smile or feel just a touch better. I don’t always accomplish this. But it is something I try to do. If you ever see me running around and I miss talking to you, know that I wish I was sharing a moment with you. 🎼 Just a spoonful of care helps the isolation go down. 🎤
