Serve Like Jesus
We Get To Do This!!! Man I just love that mindset that Pastor Mark (our executive pastor) has passed on to us. MY heart is so full when I serve. I am telling you, even when I am tired. Even when I am emotionally tapped from a long week I get filled up serving in the house. The mindset shift of “We get to!” changes everything.
This weekend is so special. It is the weekend in which we give people in the seats. The very people that we serve, an opportunity to serve side by side with us. I couldn’t be more excited for this. My wife, Bre and I have always been in the mindset that serving helps connect us to God. But it also makes our world larger. It makes this big church feel smaller.
When we first came here 9 years ago, we knew right away that we wanted to get into serving. So we did all the necessary steps and jumped in on some teams. I think in the first 2 weeks of being here, I had already talked to Rudy G, our Production Manager, and he told me I should jump on the team. SO as soon as I finished what we used to call Growth Track, I jumped in. It was a blessing. I made friends right away, started coming to everything I could and got connected to groups.
Our serve teams change how people interact with the church. It makes us feel like we are a part of something. I want each of our church members to feel like that. This weekend is the next step towards that.
This weekend, please be praying for people that are thinking about serving. Ask God to allow their hearts to be moved to serve. Ask for them to feel His heart for His people and how important it is to say yes. Every Guest Services or front facing team should be excited to share their love for serving and I know you are. So grateful to be able to serve with people that have hearts that extend out past themselves. What a team.
